It is in human nature to look for the negative in everything first. We are bombarded by negative comments, words and images through the news, and indeed it is through this primitive drive to scan the environment for negatives and threats that we survive. But surviving doesn’t necessarily mean thriving.

It is in our nature to ‘fix’ things

At home and in our workplaces. We love finding problems with processes, performance and, of course, each other. While this approach feels natural and indeed easy, it doesn’t make it right or highly effective. So I say press pause – get to know yourself and your strengths much better as you move into 2019.

A great place to start would be by giving yourself an early Christmas present in the form of ‘The Strength Book‘ by Sally Bibb – a simple and straightforward introduction to strength based leadership.
